We work to prevent homelessness by targeting households at the most imminent risk of becoming homeless and providing them with the necessary resources they need to stabilize.

Tenant Support Specialist - Cooper House

📍 Location: Cooper House – Permanent Supportive Housing Program

Do you want to make a lasting impact in your community by helping individuals transition from homelessness to housing stability? Join our team at Cooper House! We're looking for compassionate, motivated individuals to fill the role of Tenant Support Specialist in our Permanent Supportive Housing Program.

💼 About the Role

As a Tenant Support Specialist, you'll be the on-site champion for our tenants—building relationships, supporting housing stability, and helping residents work toward their personal goals. This is a dynamic, people-focused role in a collaborative team that embraces a Housing First, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction model.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Daily presence on-site; support tenants with housing needs
  • Provide mentorship on independent living and communication skills
  • Facilitate service access: healthcare, benefits, mental health, and more
  • Support lease education, mediate disputes, de-escalate crises
  • Document tenant progress and collaborate with service providers
  • Foster a welcoming, respectful environment for all residents

As a Tenant Support Specialist, you'll be the on-site champion for our tenants—building relationships, supporting housing stability, and helping residents work toward their personal goals. ✅ Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • 2+ years in human services or customer service (or an associate degree)
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and housing support is a plus
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and respond to residents' needs on-site
  • Must pass background check and have reliable transportation
  • Co-manage priority name lists and housing matches through Coordinated Entry.
